The Hiccup of the fetus.
But is it normal for babies to have hiccups even when they are in the belly?
The answer is yes, baby hiccups when in your tummy is a completely normal phenomenon. If you feel your little sobbing then don't worry, this phenomenon is actually noticeable and visible even with an ultrasound and starts around that time at the end of the first trimester.
Baby hiccups in the womb are light movements, they are not always easy to hear and can even be confused with kicks. There is no right rule, they can be more or less numerous: in any case you shouldn't worry at all.
Babies are sobbing in the uterus but even if several gynecological and obstetric scientific studies have been conducted, a pragmatic explanation of why has not yet been worked out. Babies are probably sobbing because they need to balance the pressure and therefore also the amount of amniotic fluid.
Meaning of hiccups of the fetus
As the baby grows in your tummy, it grows at incredible rates - this is the wonderful miracle of life and every step the baby takes is a small step towards his life in the real world. Usually a mother begins to perceive the baby's movements in the belly towards the eighteenth week of expectation. These movements, including kicks and simple movements in the amniotic sac can often be mistaken for hiccups.
However, we advise you to pay close attention to everything that happens in the belly, and we assure you that it will still be beautiful to do it as an emotion that you will not forget for the rest of your life, because this also allows you to understand if the baby is well and if it's growing in your tummy just like it should. In any case, you never have to worry because each child has his own specific path of growth and development within you and therefore before you get scared by too many or too few movements between kicks and various sobs it is always good to hear from your doctor.
If your gynecologist agrees, you could dedicate yourself to a light physical activity in order to have more energy and therefore manage the pregnancy and the baby's movements in a better way.
Causes of hiccups in the belly in pregnancy
If you want to know if the baby is sobbing or kicking, we recommend that you move. In fact, it can often happen that the little one moves if he feels uncomfortable in an uncomfortable position for him or even if he feels a strange sensation when he eats something too cold or too hot also based on the temperature range with the outside temperature. In fact, the little one moves when he feels uncomfortable and when this annoying situation disappears, he also stops moving.
The movements take place not only in one point of the belly but also in various areas of your abdomen both in the upper and lower part.
On the other hand, when you sit down and do not move, you are in a state of relaxation that does not give you a way to think about a probable discomfort or annoyance of the baby and you feel a sort of rhythmic pulsation from only one area of your belly, then it is probably of prenatal hiccups. This is a completely normal reflex and persists even when changing position. However, we recommend that you contact your gynecologist if this natural phenomenon occurs too often during the days of your pregnancy. In fact, it could be the symptom of something serious such as the so-called prolapse of the umbilical cord, which occurs when the supply of blood and oxygen slows down and therefore leads to potentially dangerous problems. This can especially happen at the end of your pregnancy or even in the delicate moments of labor and delivery.
All this can lead to real complications resulting from these cable problems including unpleasant situations such as in particular:
• major changes in the baby's heart rate
• Excessive decreases or inappropriate increases in the child's blood pressure
• dangerous build-up of your baby's blood CO2 levels in your tummy
• severe brain damage that you can easily prevent in time
• prenatal death
The dangers due to unmanaged situations of the umbilical cord have however highlighted that the so-called fetal hiccup finds its cause in the unnatural expansion of the umbilical cord and therefore in its compression. The phenomena of prenatal hiccups therefore increase dramatically and mothers can easily verify these phenomena. If the little one has hiccups more than five times a day then this is definitely a dangerous alarm that something is wrong with your tummy and therefore it may be worth getting alarmed and hearing the gynecologist without losing your calm and tranquility. the necessary exams to understand if everything is fine or there is something wrong with your baby and the natural course of pregnancy at that moment.
